The Landmark Greenhouse vs Vitavia Zeus
The Landmark Greenhouse
In this edition of our Top Five Premium Greenhouses in Ireland 2025 series, we’re comparing two heavyweights in the aluminium greenhouse category — Landmark Greenhouses and the Vitavia Zeus. For this series, we are comparing the 8x10 ft models, but most of what is written below is relevant to all sizes.
Both are considered premium models, and both are designed for serious gardeners who want a structure that will last. But as with all greenhouses, the details matter — especially when you’re growing in Ireland’s unpredictable weather.
This article breaks down the features, glazing, structure, ventilation, and price so you can make the right choice for your garden.
Who We Are
Landmark Greenhouses¹ is a family-run Irish business based in Carlow and Dublin. We’ve been building and supplying premium glass greenhouses across Ireland for over ten years. We started Landmark after seeing how many Irish gardeners were frustrated by the quality of glass greenhouses on offer, as well as long lead times from UK and European manufacturers.
Our goal was to design a greenhouse purpose-built for Irish weather — one that combines strength, beauty, and high-performance.
How We Compare Greenhouses
Choosing the “best” greenhouse isn’t simple — it depends on your priorities: strength, cost, accessibility, or flexibility.
For this series, we’re focusing on:
Premium, freestanding aluminium greenhouses with toughened glass only.
Models easily available to Irish gardeners.
We have no problem pointing out the strengths of other greenhouses and will tell you where the Vitavia Zeus genuinely shines — because every greenhouse has its place.
Introduction:
Landmark 8×10
The Landmark Greenhouse is a premium, all-in-one greenhouse specifically designed for Irish gardens. Available directly from landmarkgreenhouses.com, it is priced around €3,500, and includes integrated staging shelves, louvres, and automatic roof ventilators.
Vitavia Zeus 8×10
The Zeus is Vitavia’s top-tier model, positioned above the Phoenix. It’s an impressive structure with a black-powder-coated frame and a modern aesthetic. The standard model is typically priced around €4,100, depending on supplier. However, that price climbs significantly higher once you start adding premium features such as staging, louvre windows, automatic openers.

Build and Strength
The Landmark 8×10 is engineered for Irish weather — using a reinforced frame, a full aluminium base, and deep-anchored fixings. It’s designed to be storm-proof and durable enough for high-wind coastal or rural sites.
Vitavia offers a strong integral base, and advertises “no base plinth required”. But in Irish conditions, we believe a level, anchored base is still essential for stability and longevity.
Glazing and Beading
Both The Landmark and The Zeus uses toughened safety glass throughout, secured with a rubber beading system for a weather-tight seal. The Landmark glass is slightly thicker, coming in at 4mm compared to the 3mm Zeus panels. Most retailers advertise The Zeus with polycarbonate panels on the roof. Polycarbonate glazing has some advantages when it comes to insulation, but in our experience, it doesn’t give enough weight to the greenhouse structure. The lighter glass makes the structure more prone to movement in wind and makes the greenhouse less stable. Both greenhouses use clipless glazing which reduces rattling, vibration, and leaks — even during driving rain or storms.
Ventilation and Climate Control
Both models offer ventilation, but their approach differs:
Landmark: 2 automatic roof vents and 2 louvre windows to create optimal airflow throughout the greenhouse
Zeus: 2 manual roof vents but no louvre windows on the standard model.
Automatic vents on the Landmark open and close as temperatures fluctuate, maintaining ideal growing conditions with minimal effort. The Zeus’s manual vents require adjustment by hand and lack lower-level airflow. But you can add automatic openers at an extra cost.
Ease of Access and Threshold Design
Both the Landmark & The Zeus insist on a full threshold for architectural stability — an enclosed aluminium frame that reinforces the structure and resists flexing.
Aesthetics and Customisation
Both greenhouses look premium. The Landmark’s forest-green powder coating suits classic garden settings, while the Zeus’s black finish gives it a sleek, architectural look.
The Landmark is designed as an all-in-one package: built-in staging, louvres, and vents are standard. The Vitavia Zeus has a slightly larger growing area and it is more customisable. But each premium features will cost you extra.
Warranty and Service
Landmark: 12-year structural warranty on the frame.
Vitavia: 10-year structural warranty on the frame
Price and Value
The Zeus is a more expensive greenhouse— starting at €4,140 compared to Landmark’s €3,500. But when you add staging, vents, and installation, Zeus’s total cost would be closer to €5,000. The Landmark All-In-One greenhouse includes everything needed for professional growing.
Final Verdict: Which Should You Choose?
The Landmark 8×10 is a strong, weather-resistant, all-in-one greenhouse. It’s designed for Ireland’s climate and includes everything you need from day one.
The Vitavia Zeus 8×10 is a British greenhouse with a strong frame, hinged door, polycarbonate roofing, and a slightly larger growing area.
