Who We Are
Landmark Greenhouses is a family-run business based in Carlow and Dublin, designing and delivering ultra-strong, all-in-one greenhouses for Irish gardeners.
We started Landmark over ten years ago because we were frustrated with the quality of greenhouses available in Ireland — cheap, flimsy imports or overpriced UK models with long lead times.
In 2015, we designed a greenhouse that combined durability, elegance, and performance — engineered specifically for Irish weather.
Methodology: How We Compare Greenhouses
Choosing the “best” greenhouse depends on your site, climate, and budget.
For our comparisons, we focus on:
Premium aluminium greenhouses with toughened safety glass
Traditional pitched roof designs
Models readily available to Irish gardeners
We also highlight where competitors genuinely excel — even when it’s not in our favour.
Traditional Pitched Roof Greenhouse

Built for Irish Weather
Both greenhouses are stylish, with the Landmark focusing on extra strength and durability instead of a zero-threshold doorway.
Our full threshold frame offers extra rigidity and anchors securely into the foundation. The thicker 4 mm glass and integrated staging adds ballast to the structure, and rubber beading keeps panels watertight — vital for stormy coastal conditions. We used to sell low threshold greenhouses but we were unimpressed by their quality. We favour architectural stability so as to protect our greenhouses against hurricane-force winds.
By contrast, the Halls Blockley uses a Zero Threshold™ design, which is great for wheelchair access but reduces structural stability at the base. It offers a slightly larger growing area, and two extra roof ventilators but they are manually operated unless you pay extra. As experienced greenhouse gardeners, we feel a greenhouse of this size doesn’t need more than two ventilators, especially when it’s equipped with louvre windows and a sliding door.
Warranty and Support
Both offer a 12-year frame warranty on the frame.
Glazing and Beading: Landmark Is Stronger
Landmark uses 4 mm toughened safety glass — thicker and heavier than Blockley’s 3 mm equivalent. That added weight of the glass keeps the greenhouse grounded in high winds.
More importantly, Landmark’s rubber beading system locks the glass securely into the frame, preventing rattling and leaks. The Blockley uses bar capping which seals well, but the lighter glass still makes it more vulnerable in extreme conditions.
Ventilation and Climate Control
Landmark includes two automatic roof vents and two louvres to create airflow from the bottom of the greenhouse to the top. Halls Blockley has four roof vents, which is generous, but they’re manual by default — you’ll need to pay extra for automatic openers. Louvres are also an upgrade option.
For everyday use, automatic systems save time and protect plants from overheating on sudden sunny days.
Customisation and Colour
Both models are available in powder-coated finishes.
Landmark is offered in Green, while the Halls Blockley can be ordered in Green or Black.
The Blockley provides slightly more aesthetic flexibility, but Landmark’s focus is on performance and long-term strength.
Delivery and Installation
Landmark’s delivery costs around €120. Halls Blockley delivery is free from most Irish retailers.
Both offer installation services at extra cost. Landmark connects you directly with trusted installers across Ireland; Halls’ installers are usually arranged through the distributor.
Price and Value
At first glance, the Halls is slightly cheaper (around €3,399 RRP) versus €3,500 for Landmark. If you were to include all the extra premium features on a Halls Greenhouse, it could set you back an additional €900, depending on the time of year you buy it.
Advantages of Landmark

Final Verdict
